Summit snow

4th February 2024

It was a wet day at lower elevations with snow falling above 800 metres. A cloud base of around 600 metres made it a poor day for photography.

More summit snow forecast for this evening with rain at all elevations tomorrow.

After colder overnight conditions there was wet snow on the summit of Fionn Bheinn this morning and the temperature was just above freezing.

I was surprised to see that these snow patches had survived among the peat hags at only 500 metres.
