Drier but very windy

21st December 2023

After yesterdays heavy rain this morning was drier but very windy. There were some scattered squally showers, however it was so windy that no fresh snow stuck to the mountain and there are currently only a very few small snow patches. More snow forecast overnight and tomorrow with lighter winds than today. Some accumulations of fresh snow will start to develop. Details are in the avalanche hazard report which has been issued for the area.  https://www.sais.gov.uk/torridon/

Looking across Loch Maree to a very snow free Slioch. Waves on the Loch show how windy it was early this morning.

Looking across Upper Loch Torridon to Beinn Alligin

The few remaining snow patches in Coire an Laoigh, Beinn Eighe.
