A calmer day
29th December 2023
A much calmer day today and a chance to see the snow accumulations from recent storms. After a brief spell warmer temperatures yesterday the snowpack is consolidating and has a widespread breakable crust. Snowfall last night and today was on light winds and there is a covering of fresh snow on all aspects above 450 metres. The cloud was covering the tops when I was at the top only lifting when I got back down! Hopefully the photos give a good idea of snow cover though. A return to strong winds again tomorrow. The recent fresh snow will be redistributed as the Easterly winds pick up during the morning.
