Mild and Wet

5th April 2023

Today was a mild and wet day. The rain was heavy first thing easing through the morning. The afternoon was drier although most peaks remained in the cloud. The site for today”s observations was Beinn Damh above Loch Torridon.  While the rain stopped the cloud didn’t lift to reveal the stunning views which can be seen on a good day. Some of the glimpses of what could be seen today are in the photos below. Tomorrow is forecast colder with a few summit snow showers although no significant amounts, most likely a dusting at best, which will quickly thaw. A ridge of high pressure to follow on Friday brining fine conditions to the Torridon area.

The waterfall on the initial path up through the trees giving an indication of how much rain there has been.

Near the summit of Beinn Damh. While the rain had stopped, the hoped for clearing never came.  The small snow patch is all that remains here.

A view of Beinn na-h-Eaglaise. This was the site of yesterdays observations and where yesterdays blog photos were taken from.

Torridon village in the sunshine while Liathach behind remains in the cloud.

Looking across Loch Clair to Creag Dubh. This was taken fro the road later in the afternoon. One of the few summits to have appeared out of the clouds today.
