Liathach

14th April 2023

It was a dry day with light winds and felt very warm when in the sun. The snowpack is consolidating in all locations, and thawing quite quickly where it gets much sun. Isolated instabilities persist in deeper accumulations of recent snow.

I went up Mullach na Rathain today, pictures below.

Looking along the ridge from Mullach na Rathain to Spidean a’ Coire Leith.

A high, steep, North aspect; an example of the sort of location where instabilities persist.

Looking down into Coire na Caime.

Looking down to Loch Torridon.

Roller balls on a Southerly aspect released by the heat from the sun.
