Pleasant in the glen and dryer than expected

29th March 2023

Lucky me, I stayed dry which is always a reason to celebrate. Less rain than forecast this morning but the drizzly showers started by lunch time just as I was descending from the hill. The mist has been down all day giving poor visibility on the tops. It felt quite cold with the wind chill on expose ridges but lower in the glen it has been a nice enough day with good bare ground travel conditions. Higher up there are some quite large patches of snow remaining all though this is slowly thawing, the well bonded snow pack is quite firm in the shade with some softening on the surface on sun exposed aspects.
