Mild again

18th March 2023

The mild spell continues. Today was another damp day with light winds and poor visibility. From the glen the hills look to have very little snow, however above around 800 metres, there is a thin but reasonable cover of wet, thawing snow on most aspects. This will start to refreeze as the temperature drops through the night, with a colder drier day to follow tomorrow. Again the visibility was limited but the pictures give an idea of the remaining snow cover.

Looking across Coire an Laoigh, on descent from Spidean Coire nan Clach, Beinn Eighe. Snow cover here is reasonable above around 750 metres.

Looking down out the coire towards Loch Clair. This photo was taken at 600 metres. Minimal snow below this height.

The best view of the coire was probably when I was back at the road! Coire an Laoigh, Beinn Eighe.
