The calm before the storm

Light winds and a further dusting of fresh snow above 800 metres today but no significant accumulations.

Storm Otto, the first named storm in 2023 arrives tonight bringing heavy rain and winds at summit level around 60 mph gusting to 80 mph. The freezing level will rise to over 2000 metres so further snow loss expected overnight. Colder conditions forecast to return during the day on Friday with a little fresh snow.
