More Blue skies

27th February 2023

Today was another perfect weather day in Torridon. Blues skies sunshine and light winds, just missing some snow. Todays pictures are from Liathach where one of the largest areas of snow remains. The traverse of Liathach or just ascending Spidean a’ Choire Leith requires crossing this snow. Many other hills are very close to being snow free. Where snow does remain it tends to be just around the corrie rims or patches in gullies and is generally avoidable.

A closer view of Spidean a’Choire Leith, Liathach. Crossing the remaining snow is required to ascend this peak. The snow remains firm and icy.

Looking towards Mullach an Rathain. Some snow remaining in Coireag Cam.

Looking across to Beinn Liath Mor and Sgurr Ruadh. The low lying clouds due to the temperature inversion.
