A continuing thaw

6th January 2023

The thaw continues with the freezing level above the summits this morning but later tomorrow it comes back down to around 800 metres so we should expect some further consolidation in the already well consolidated snow pack.

One person was kind enough to report an avalanche so thanks so much for taking the time to do so. We have a large area to cover, so we cannot be everywhere so your reports are greatly appreciated.

It was very windy today so I managed to get up into Creag Dhubh, Binn Eighe.

It was a dull kind of day with very strong West South West winds. Still plenty snow cover at higher levels.

Hints of a blue sky above.
