A brighter day

It was a much brighter day although there were still a couple of flurries of snow. The freezing level was around 800 metres with remaining snow thawing below this but with an icy crust and a dusting of fresh snow above.

Yesterday’s ptarmigan. I think that those with a red arrow are definitely ptarmigan and the 2 with the blue arrows are possibly ptarmigan. Well done to anyone who thought 6, 7 or 8. The fact that we can’t decide is confirmation that their camouflage is good. It wasn’t the best photo conditions which doesn’t really show up in this photo but does in the next one.
