Christmas Eve

24th December 2022

It has been a wet day with lots of driving rain. There was some fresh snow at higher levels this morning. Fortunately we got some reasonable photos for the blog between the mist and showers.  The blue sky in the photos risk giving the wrong impression but they say the camera never lies. Today there were definitely areas of surface wet snow instabilities present at higher altitudes, these were mainly affecting steep terrain on West to Northerly aspects. Please see our new report for the latest update.

Looking into Beinn Eighe this morning.

Some very thin ice streaks had formed overnight but it there have been incessant rain showers

since this photo was taken.
