Gales in the North-West.
9th March 2022
It has been a windy day with gusts blowing me off my feet on occasions. There was less new snow than we expected so it mainly fell as rain or sleet. Slioch (980m) had a dusting of fresh snow this morning and there was probably a bit more further inland away from the sea but there was little signs of new snow in Torridon. The snow pack is beginning to soften slightly although it is generally well bonded and stable. Over the next period we can expect some wet snow instabilities to develop.

Liathach this morning in the mist and rain. Down in the glen the replacement work of the old stone road bridge is nearing completion.

The coires of Beinn Bhan (896m) have still got snow but the steeper faces are more stripped.
