Improving snow cover on the tops.

Covid -19

The Scottish Avalanche Information Service issues information to support permitted activity under current Scottish Government guidance.  Please be aware of travel restrictions within Scotland and respect local communities by referring to Scottish Government guidance and how to participate safely by referring to Mountaineering Scotland guidance.

Further inland (away from the sea) the snow cover is improving. There are some isolated windslab instabilities on high wind sheltered terrain. Generally mountain travel conditions are good and temperatures are around average for the time of year. There is relatively easy access along the paths as there is no snow to speak of at lower levels. It does feels cold in the wind though.

Looking into Coire an Laoigh and Spidean nan Coire Clach around lunch time.

There is not great snow cover at lower levels but above 900 m there are some localised pockets of deeper instabilities.
