Gale force winds.

11th March 2020

Pretty stormy on the hill today with new snow and wind slab accumulating and gaining depth above 700 metres on North to South-East aspects above 700m. The older snow pack had not firmed up as much as I had hoped for but the freezing level is lowering today, so there should be further re-freezing by tomorrow. The trail breaking above the snow line was hard work.

Previously slumped cornices are now seeing some refreezing and new growth.

Slioch today .

Meal a’ Ghiubhais this morning. There was lots of spindrift and some debris (both old and new) from fragile cornice triggered avalanches.
