Cold on the summits.

23rd December 2019

It felt cold enough on the summits this morning although visibility was variable and decreasing to poor later as the clouds came down. There is good snow cover above 800 meters or so but the snow is very patch below this level with many ridge crests free of snow. The snow surface was almost crusty and slippery this morning but it softened a lot by mid morning.

There is actually quite lot of snow amongst the rocks and crags.
