Fresh snow on summits

19th February 2019

It was warmer than forecast today but there was some fresh snow on the summits. Warm from tomorrow onwards unfortunately.

Creag Dubh summit cairn. Wet fresh snow here was tending to stick to the windward side of things such as the cairn.

Looking down the East ridge of Creag Dubh.

Looking up the East ridge of Creag Dubh. Old snow on the North flank of the ridge, new snow higher up hidden in the cloud.

Ptarmigan, still in winter plumage, were still reasonably well hidden amongst the rocks.

Creag Dubh, Beinn Eighe showing a dusting of fresh snow above 800 metres.
