In Search of Snow
24th December 2017
Cloudy, mild, (9C in the glen) wet and dreich. But look on the bright side, the wind had dropped! The colder air arrived in the morning, but as the heavier rain eased by late morning, no fresh snow was observed on the summits by early afternoon.
Across Loch Torridon to the bare cloud shrouded hillsides of Beinn Alligin and Liathach
The single track road over the Bealach na Ba looking down into Coire na Ba with Meall Gorm on the right. The road was noticeably in bad repair compared to last season – pressure from the NC500?
The industrial scene on the summit of Sgurr a’ Chaorachain, Applecross hills. I wonder if the snow poles marking the track have ever been needed in recent years?
Multi-layered stratus clouds. Coire na Chaorachain, and Meall Gorm on the right.
The Met mast is the wee one on the right.
