Easter Showers

14th April 2017

Occasional showers today, some heavy, with cloud persisting around the summits. The early snowline around 600m rose as the snow melted during the day.

On Saturday, cold NW winds will prevail with scattered snow showers. Freezing level will be around 700 metres, with wet snow down to 600m at times during the heavier showers. New snow amounts will be small although some deeper areas may exist on North to East aspects at higher elevations. Strong winds will develop tonight, easing through the day tomorrow.

Below are a few photos of today’s conditions in the Fannaich mountains. There are obvious patches of firmer old snow hanging in there.(Above) The main bulk of the Fannaichs.(Above)  Left to Right; Sgurr Breac, Toman Coinnich, A’ Chailleach(Above)  From Left to Right; Sgurr Mor, Meall a’ Chrasgaidh, Sgurr nan Clach Geala. From Left to Right; Beinn Liath Mhor Fannaich, Sgurr Mor, Carn na Criche, Meall a’ Chrasgaidh.
