A Beautiful Day

23rd March 2017

High pressure conditions are dominating in the North West, with a cold and clear day and fantastic views. The cold conditions are maintaining minor weaknesses in localised areas of windslab. The snowpack remains generally shallow, with many sun induced bare areas on Southern aspects.(Above)  Left to right; Applecross hills. Liathach, Beinn Alligin behind and the ridge of Beinn Eighe. very wintry looking, but…….Minor cornices along the ridge on the left have been eroded with a change in wind direction.
