A Wee Bit Wintry

9th January 2017

We’d hoped for more snow to be deposited, but alas…………. However, wintry showers and more organised bands of snow are expected through the week, but also interspersed with short sharp rises in temperatures. The hills are looking a bit more wintry though.

A dusting of new snow on Liathach.

An obvious snow line at 700 metres on Sgurr nan Fhir Duibhe, Beinn Eighe.

Creag Dhubh, east end of Beinn Eighe disappearing into the next wintry shower. Again, less snow accumulated on these East and North-East aspects than expected.

As good as it got today! Very isolated patches of old snow in the back of Coire an Laoigh.

Spindrift more evident at summit level ahead of the wintry showers as the wind strengthened.
