Snow On Its Way

20th December 2016

After a cold and bright start this morning, the weather quickly deteriorated and rain, with snow on the summits, arrived by early afternoon. The wind increased to gale force south westerly, gusting stronger higher up. It sounded like a jet aircraft as the gusts blew around the exposed tops and ridges. The day’s highlight was watching a Golden Eagle struggling into a headwind down Glen Torridon.

Daylight over the Achnashellach hills, with the cloud already thickening up as the rain approaches.
