Bye bye to snow on the Glen Squaib crags on the NW aspect of Beinn Dearg

Bye bye to snow on the Glen Squaib crags on the NW aspect of Beinn Dearg

21 vehicles in the Coire Dubh car park in Glen Torridon today – many folk enjoying a day out in the beautiful Torridon mountains. The day started well, but winds increased and cloud bases lowered ahead of patchy rain arriving by evening. There remains a diminishing snowpack in the mild temperatures with most snow still on North to East aspects above 700m – patchy snow elsewhere with most ridges and summits clear of snow. The freezing level will remain above the summits tomorrow with rain arriving in the afternoon. Enjoy!

The Fannichs 'turning blacker' also.

Wouldn't it be great to be up on Liathach ridge today?

But it might be busy judging by the number of cars in the Coire Dubh park!
