Fri 1Photo – Avalanche debris in Coire an Laoigh, Beinn Eighe.

A good day to be out in the hills with great views between the showers. Recent avalanche activity was observed on Beinn Eighe today and more snow is forecast followed by a brief rise in temperature. However, the wildlife is beginning to muster as spring approaches – the Pied Wagtails are moving up the burns into the hills, Golden Plover’s eerie and sad calls are heard and the Ptarmigan are very active.

Today is the final day for the Torridon Blogmeister this season. The Grand Master will continue to the bitter end! I hope you have enjoyed our photos – we aim to entertain and inform.

Instabilities very apparent within the recently deposited windslab. The bond between the windslab and the very obvious old snow is relatively good.

I think you guys do a really great job over in Torridon. I’m just sorry that the forecasts are only over the weekend period as I’m often over there during the week. But your blogs have been great this winter…sorry this is the blogmeister’s last post as they’re always great photos and really informative. Have a great summer all of you, you deserve a rest after all your hard work.
