Torridon Topup

26th February 2015

It is plainly obvious that yesterday’s and last night’s thaw stripped snow from the lower slopes leaving the largest accumulations of old snow higher up in corries and gullies of the biggest mountains (at 1000m, +5C last night to -5C today). A dusting of fresh snow was deposited today in the heavy showers above 500m with spindrift observed blowing in the strong westerly winds. More of the same forecast for tomorrow.

Not much snow remains on the west end of Liathach above Torridon village
