Fine Day in the Fannaichs

28th January 2020

Decidedly wintry today with a general covering of snow and low temperatures. It felt warm in the sun dare I say! A few slow moving wintry showers peppered the area, particularly through the afternoon. Some areas of moderately bonded windslab observed today, mainly in high sheltered locations along coire rims and ridge flanks.

Below are some general landscape photos showing the extent of the snow cover in the Fannaich and Great Wilderness mountains.

A snow shower over the distant Torridon hills and Slioch.

Beinn Liath Mor Fannaich and Sgurr Mor. Most snow in sheltered areas NW through N to East aspects. Otherwise a general thin covering elsewhere.

The wind exposed southerly aspects of Beinn Dearg.
