Cooler

23rd March 2016

A much cooler day in the corries with temperatures close to freezing at 650 metres. Cloud base was around 500 metres early in the day rising later.

Above; Looking into Coireag Dubh Beag on the left, Hillwalk Gully centre and Coireag Dubh Mor on the right.

The approach slopes in Coireag Dubh Mor. Sadly the icy conditions of a couple of weeks ago are gone. Obvious scarring visible from the collapse of Poachers visible centre left.

The snow that does remain is compact and firm. Still plenty of mountaineering left for those looking to get their crampons on.

Our usual Kinlochewe shot above. No evidence of melt on the hills today. Burns are low and hands were cold without gloves.
