Windy and Wet

5th March 2015

After a good fall of snow on Tuesday and a promising day yesterday, it’s back to rising temperatures, rain above summit level and diminishing snowpack! However, there are still extensive accumulations of snow high up. A large wet snow avalanche (size three) debris was observed on Liathach, on an easterly aspect starting at 750m and descending 300m and over a recognised ascent path! The mild wet weather is forecast to continue.
