High level clouds

19th February 2025

It has been a pleasant day in the Torridon area, remaining dry with winds lighter than forecasted.  High level clouds enabled far superior views than yesterday.

Very little snow remains below 750 metres with greatest accumulations still found on North to East aspects.  Coire rims, coire headwalls and deep wind sheltered locations still holding the greatest amounts.  A thin dusting of snow is still present in the highest locations, especially on the inland ranges, but this will continue to thaw and disappear overnight.

North-East coire of Creag Dhubh.

Wider shot of Creag Dhubh to Sgurr nan Fhir Duibhe – otherwise known as the Eastern end of Beinn Eighe.

Sunny side of Liathach.

Sgurr Dubh (782m).

Taken from the Observatory Cairn on Leathad Buidhe towards Beinn Eighe.

Meall a’Ghiuthais (887m).
