Well at least its dry !

14th January 2025

Plus 4 degrees celsius on the summits today and a strong SW wind. I often think of this as being like a “hair dryer” blasting the snow, which of course leads to fairly quick snow loss. Or, as a colleague put it earlier today, “who left the heating on” !

But… at least it’s not raining as well ! Rain with these temperatures would strip all remaining snow from the hills extremely quickly, and thankfully, it looks fairly dry for the next couple of days.

Small mercies indeed.
