Thaw conditions

15th December 2024

Today was mild, wet and windy. Rain was light this morning when the photos were taken and became significantly heavier through day. The snow cover had rapidly diminished in the warm overnight temperatures and this will have only accelerated as rain became heavier through the afternoon.  Thaw conditions are set to continue through Monday and Tuesday with very high rainfall accumulations forecast. There is some optimism for colder conditions to return on Wednesday.
