North side of Beinn Eighe and Liathach

20th March 2024

Sunny conditions gave a chance to look at the remaining snow on the North side of Beinn Eighe and Liathach. While there is some limited snow and more than on yesterdays pictures taken from the South side, snow is still patchy at best.

Snow cover will continue to diminish with rain and storm force winds tomorrow. A return to more wintery conditions is forecast from Friday.

How many days this winter do you think the buttresses in Coire Mhic Fhearchair have been rimed and frozen for good winter climbing? Less than 7? I haven’t managed to get a day up there despite it being top of my list!

Hi Alistair, Thanks for your comment. Very few days. I would agree its less than 7, particularly when you consider weather conditions as well. Sais Torridon Team
