Loch Fannich

27th March 2022

Very little change in the slowly thawing snowpack status in the North-West so thought I’d explore a different part of the Fannichs.  To confirm, most snow can be found above 800m on North through East to South-East Aspects and remains generally stable and well bonded throughout.

Above: Garbh Choire Mor. The bottom of the centre buttress is c.600m.

Above: Fionn Bheinn (933m) from across Loch Fannich.  The high north-east coires of Toll More (R) and Toll Beag (L) holding most snow.

Above: Looking up the broad south ridge of Meall Gorm (949m).

Above: The pointy peak of Sgurr nan Clach Geala (1093m) behind with Drum Reidh in front.

Above: There’s a sea eagle in there somewhere.
