An Improving Day
21st March 2019
After a miserably grey, mild and drizzly start with low cloud, it brightened up dramatically by mid morning giving a fine and sunny afternoon. Remaining very mild (13C in Glen Torridon early afternoon) with a nice ‘warm’ breeze. The snowpack continues to thaw at all levels and is becoming patchy except for some higher summit slopes, ridges and coire rims.
A typically ‘snowless’ scene on the coastal mountain of Sgurr a’ Chaorachain above Loch Kishorn.
The summit of Sgurr a’ Chaorachain (776m) with wet snow hanging in around the coire rim.
Looking out of Coire a’ Chaorachain down to Loch Coire nan Arr and Beinn Bhan behind.
Snow reduced to runnels and rim lines on the coastal end of Liathach above Torridon village.
