Cooling Down and Firming Up

20th February 2018

As forecast the temperatures in Torridon dropped overnight. Tuesday morning was bright with good visibility early on. The freezing level is now around 800 metres and there is a light dusting of new snow on the highest tops.

The snowpack continues to consolidate but remains soft underfoot below 700 metres. Trail breaking is much easier though than it has been recently. Below, heading up towards Creag Dhubh at the East end of Beinn Eighe.
