Damp and Cloudy
2nd January 2017
Highlight of the day (again) was watching a pair of Golden eagles cruising a blustery ridge above the Caledonian pines on the walk into Beinn Eighe. They occasionally settled on the ground or on a Granny pine. SNH put deer carcasses out on the hill to attract the carrion eaters and have a live cctv feed into the office. Otherwise, it was a bit unpleasant with rain showers below 700 metres, wintry above and cloud on the summits. Snow cover still a bit sparse.
