A stunning, blue sky day.

19th March 2026

Today was one of those rare days to take the time to soak up the ambiance, the stunning weather, and the mountains, framed in that oh so elusive, perfect blue sky.

The remaining snow cover is now confined mainly to the higher Coires, on North through East to South-East aspects, and is firm and consolidated. Quite firm and icy after the nights cooler temperatures, but softening, where exposed to the sun. The more Northerly aspects, out of the sun, remaining firm.

Tomorrow is forecast to be a slightly less wonderful day, with cloudier skies, and a strengthening South-Westerly wind. But still dry, so it should still be a decent day to be on the hills.

Looking ahead, perhaps a little fresh snow on the tops on Monday, but until then, freezing levels are forecast to remain above the summits.
