Snow showers on Fionn Bheinn

14th March 2026

Snow showers throughout the day fell as snow above around 200 metres. The freezing level was around 750 metres with very little change in temperature with height giving snow to much lower levels. The snow at lower levels melted quickly though.

Drifting continued to build localised windslab deposits in some gullies and around some coire rims as detailed in the report. Elsewhere there is a thin covering of soft snow on bare ground.

Further snow on South-Westerly winds is forecast tomorrow with a brief warming around dawn.

Visibility was poor for most of the day with brighter conditons this morning allowing a couple of photos of Beinn Eighe and a couple of brighter spells during the day.
