Good visibility

It was a cold, dry day with some sunshine and some cloud. The older snowpack has become very firm in the cooler conditions and areas of softer windslab are fairly isolated.

Some photos below show snow cover around (and slightly beyond) the Torridon forecast area.

There were shallow windslab deposits in sheltered locations like behind the rocks in this picture taken on Beinn Liath Mhór a’ Ghiubhais Li. The older firm snow can be seen lower right.

 

Rime on the windward side of blades of grass.

 

A dusting of snow down to 300 metres in the Fannichs.
