Isolated snow patches

7th March 2025

I went up Beinn Dearg today to see if there is any snow on it’s Northern side and also because it makes a good viewpoint. I can confirm that there are a few small snow patches but unfortunately low cloud limited the views. Apart from the cloud it was a pleasant day, dry and mild with light winds.

Photos below show what could be seen of the snow.

Beinn Dearg. There was a bigger patch of snow further down in An Coire Mor but visibility too poor to get a photo.

Sgurr nan Fhir Duibhe and Creag Dhubh, Beinn Eighe.

Coire an Laoigh, Beinn Eighe.

Liathach, snow just visible on Spidean Coire nan Clach.

The cloud lifted enough to get a view of a couple of summits but they appeared snow free from the viewpoint I had.

Today’s wildlife shot below.

There were a lot of frogs around today. They looked like they were enjoying the mild conditions.
