Mild, wet and windy

21st March 2024

Today was another warm, wet and windy day. The rain eased through the morning although the summits remained in cloud most of the day. Storm force winds on the tops meant today was a day for staying low down. Although coffeee was hard to come by with power cuts in both Torridon village and Sheildaig  and many businesses having to close for the day.

The limited patchy snow continues to thaw and diminish. All change tomorrow with snow forecast above 400 metres although winds remain very strong. While snowfall amounts are relatively small, the hills will look very different tomorrow and it will feel like winter in the mountains.
