Surprisingly clear

17th February 2024

Some cloud on the tops already this morning gave the impression the day would be overcast. However as I headed uphill the clouds lifted above the summits to give some more good views. Todays observation point was Sgurr nan Lochain Uaine on the South side of Glen Torridon. Limited snow on the hills in this area, with largest areas remaining in gullies and around coire rims. Snow cover will further diminish with overnight rain tonight. Only slightly colder on Monday with mild conditions again on Tuesday.

Colder conditions forecast to return from Wednesday.

Fuar Tholl. A comparison with the blog photo on 14th Feb gives an idea of the snow loss over the last few days.
