Heap Big Water!

11th January 2020

Mild, wet and windy this morning, but easing into showers later with some bright intervals. Becoming colder also as snow expected on the summits through into the evening. Although the intensity of the rain overnight and into this morning was almost equal to that a few days ago, the rivers and burns are more in spate due to the snow melt. Not much snow remaining as the photos reveal.

The A’ Ghairbhe river flowing from Coulin via Kinlochewe into Loch Maree.

The previously superficial snow cover on Beinn Eighe did not last long in the mild and wet conditions.

The Allt Coire Roill flowing into Loch Torridon from the eastern coires of Beinn Damh.

No evidence of snow on Liathach.

The Russel Burn is a very short run from the east coires of Sgurr a’ Chaorachain (Applecross hills) into Loch Kishorn.
