Warm, Bright and Hazy

28th February 2019

What should have been a fine day with wonderful views was spoiled by a widespread smoke haze from the burning of hillsides which occur annually at this time of year during dry spells. Otherwise, good walking conditions and a very limited and patchy snowpack. Becoming colder over the weekend.

A smoke hazy view looking up Loch Broom to the Beinn Dearg hills just visible in the distance.

A smoke hazy view of the main Fannaich hills of (L to R) Meall a’ Chrasgaidh, Carn na Criche, Sgurr Mor, Sgurr nan Clach Geala.

A smoke hazy view of An Teallach. Not much snow remaining.

Toman Coinneach and A’ Chailleach above Loch Toll an Lochain.

More uncontrolled burning on the lower slopes of Meall a’ Chrasgaidh, adding to the existing smoke haze pollution.
