This is more like it!

17th January 2019

A lovely day to be out with a fair amount of fresh snow to all levels and some deep drifts higher up. Today’s wee trip was up to Fionn Bheinn above Achnasheen.

I thought this person was fairly optimistic as snow cover was quite thin lower down.

However higher up there was some deep drift due to heavy snow overnight accompanied by strong Northerly winds.

Other forms of transport were being used.

Quite a few people out on the hill enjoying the weather and snowy conditions. Bumped into Diane Macleish and David ‘Heavy’ Whalley making their way up the hill.

Great views over to the Liathach (left), Beinn Eighe (centre), and Meall a’Ghiubhais (right)

Not so much snow in Glen Torridon as it was in the lee of the snow bearing Northerly winds. Looking up to Creag Dubh at the east end of Beinn Eighe

I was a bit optimistic, though skis were not a bad choice for going up. Ended up carrying them most of the way down. great views though.
