The End is Nigh

11th April 2018

A mild and misty day with the cloud feeding in from the east breaking over the coastal mountains in Torridon. The spring snowpack remains stable and well consolidated. More of the same to come as the slow thaw continues and the snowpack diminishes.

Hill fog this morning on Creag Dhubh of Beinn Eighe. The lowest snow patches are around 400 metres.

Cloud caps on Liathach and in Coire an Laoigh, Beinn Eighe. The summit cloud, around 550m in this photo, persisted into the afternoon.

Looking into Coire Dubh Mor between Stuic a’ Choire Dhuibh Bhig of Liathach on the left and A’ Coinneach of Beinn Eighe on the right. Not much snow left on the southerly aspects.

Cloud cap on Beinn Alligin on the left with Mullach an Rathain of Liathach on the right. Little snow remains on the more coastal hills.

Still busy in Glen Torridon.

Hazy view into the South Torridon hills with the Munro of Maol Chean-dearg centre.
