Pencils, Curtains and Umbrellas!

6th March 2018

ICE! There is a tremendous amount of ice forming or has formed in all places that has had free flowing water, eg. watercourses and seepages, mostly above 400m. and on all aspects. Unfortunately, the visibility was too poor to spy into the higher elevations.

Coire Dubh Mor path between Liathach on the left and Beinn Eighe on the right. Fresh snow lying above 300 metres, although amounts are generally small.

Icefalls dribbling down the northern face of Stuc a’ Choire Dhuibh Bhig (Liathach) above the Coire Dubh Mor footpath. Rime is also forming above 500 metres.

As good as it got looking into the northern coires of Liathach. There were folk climbing in Coireag Dubh Mor – right-hand coire.
