Wintery Showers
15th January 2018
Thankfully the high winds eased overnight as forecast, but a fresh Westerly airflow persisted today, strengthening during the showers. It felt very wintery during the snow showers with quite a windchill! Snow lying above 400 metres by early afternoon on the more inland mountains and drifting, with accumulations of fresh windslab in sheltered locations. More of the same for tomorrow.

A patchy snowscape at 600-700 metres before the freezing level lowered allowing fresh snow to settle.

It was quite bright between the snow showers before they intensified. An Teallach appearing in the background.
