Cloudy and Calm

22nd January 2017

A very pleasant day to be out for a walk with good but rather hazy views. Colder than of late. There was a hard frost low down before the cloud arrived and it ‘warmed’ up. Icy footpaths, but very little ice forming on the crags.

The bare hillsides of Slioch above Loch Maree and the Caledonian pines on Beinn Eighe National Nature Reserve.

The lean north side of Beinn Eighe and Meall a’ Ghiuthais (887m) on the right.

Northern panorama. Spot the snow! From Slioch centre left to the Fannaichs in the background centre right. Kinlochewe in the glen on the right.
