Mild, Unpleasant

28th December 2016

I considered headlining this blog ‘Miserable’, but despite it all, how can Torridon ever be miserable? Such a beautiful area, complimented by the amazing coffee and walnut sponge cake in the Torridon café! However, the mild, wet and windy weather continued today with little visible above 600 metres. The moist snowpack is now limited to patchy areas on steep slopes mainly above 700 metres. Unfortunately, more of the same is forecast.

A touch of afternoon brightness in Glen Torridon. Cloud down on Liathach.

Northern coires of Liathach. Cloud base around 600m.

Even the deer were loathed to move far in the drizzle!

Beinn Alligin across Loch Torridon. Spot the snow?

Scree fans on the southern flanks of Beinn Eighe.

Beautiful photos as ever, Andy but I feel I must quibble a bit with the way you describe Torridon.

Torridon is ‘unpleasant’ but never miserable?

    Que?

(You also mentioned cake. Pictures please, or it never happened.)
